“This is an unusual request. In October, I was in the Kloof SPCA shop at Maytime Stores and saw a pair of silver serviette rings marked C.W.T. Inchanga Hotel. C.W. Tomkins was the proprietor of the Inchanga Hotel above the station in the early 1900s.
I then consulted members of the Umgeni Railway Society about buying the serviette rings for the station museum, but regrettably by the following week they had been sold.
This is an appeal to the person who bought them, to consider reselling them for the railway museum. Alternatively, there might be someone else reading this who has a similar pair, as these were probably at one time on each dining table in the hotel.”
