The staff at Debbie Cameron Physiotherapy get behind the third annual Talk Sign Day taking place today, Friday, 11 March, by learning the South African Sign Language (SASL) signs for this campaign which include – let’s meet, let’s connect, let’s do coffee, let’s have fun, friends for life and see you soon. These signs are illustrated and appear on the Talk Sign website page, www.talksign.co.za.
Talk Sign Day will be celebrated today but the campaign continues throughout the month of March. “March is human rights month and it is a human right for every individual to communicate and be communicated with,” says Justice Zac Yacoobs, Chairman of the KZN Blind & Deaf Society.
Throughout the month of March the Society urges South Africans to continue to learn the SASL signs and to reach out to someone who is deaf or hard of hearing. Should you wish to make a financial contribution to the Talk Sign campaign, please find the bank details below. All money raised will be used to assist with the education and job placement of those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
