Hirsch’s Hillcrest recently went to the White house community care centre to make a donation of a Smeg gas stove. The White House Community Care Centre in Inanda Valley that takes cares of 50-60 abandoned, disabled, mentally challenged, cerebral palsy children and adults, plus we have a feeding scheme for the “Gogos” in the area on Tuesday, between 30-50 extra mouths. We are the only facility of this kind in Kwa Zulu/Natal so we get calls daily to take more residents. We rely on donations from Companies and the Private sector. As you can imagine our list is never ending. We have run out of space in our current buildings and we have plans for an additional 56 bed wing.
‘At the White House, The Majority of the people living there are either mentally ill or living with Cerebral Palsy and most of them were abandoned because their family’s did not have the money to take care of them, or they just couldn’t handle their loved one being ‘different’.’ said Hirsch’s PRO, Taryn Taylor.
‘Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking care of the community by supporting The White house. Thanks to your donation of a 5 burner Gas SMEG Oven & Hob, our troubles in cooking department have now come to an end. It is so cost efficient with regards to the gas consumption that we will also be saving on our electricity bills!’ said Adele Walters.
