The 38th Sunday Tribune Garden Show, South Africa’s premier horticultural event, will again take place at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg from 27 to 29 September.
The event will feature more than 70 designer gardens, together with special exhibits of orchids, roses, floral decor, bonsai and others.
There will also be a strong focus on schools, with more than 100 mini gardens designed and constructed by children as young as nine years of age.
Other exhibits of interest include the 900 square metre Happy Earth Hall, which forms an integral part of the show with its emphasis on sustainability, and the floral icing cake hall which is the largest of its kind in South Africa.
A number of nurseries will be using the opportunity to introduce new plant material, to complement the presence of distributors specialising in an extended range of equipment and products for the outdoors.
With the Sunday Tribune Garden Show drawing an ever-increasing national and international audience each year, 2013’s event should be the biggest and best yet so be sure not to miss out, especially if you have an interest in gardening design.
The Show will be open from 9am to 5pm each day. Gate charges will be R50 per adult and R35 for children under 12 and pensioners.
