AFDA, South Africa’s number one film, television and performance school, recently listed by ID magazine as “one of the top ten off-the grid art institutions in the world”, is proud to once again host its ANNUAL EXPERIMENTAL FESTIVAL at its JOHANNESBURG campus (19-20 June), CAPE TOWN campus (19- 21 June) and DURBAN campus (20 June) 2015.
This year AFDA will exhibit over 51 new experimental films, broadcast 7 new television shows, perform 9 stage productions and 7 musical productions.
“The experimental festival is a unique opportunity for third year students to discover and express their artistic intent as well as experiment with film, theatre and television craft techniques,” says Garth Holmes, co-founder and Chairman of AFDA.
This year Durban hosts the experimental festival with its first group of third year students. Durban Dean Franco Human, standing on a pile of building rubble as he oversees the building of the new AFDA Durban Film studios, says “There is great anticipation amongst the staff and students as we gear up to show the rest of South Africa how KZN students intend making their mark on the screens and stages of the future.”
Do not miss the AFDA experimental festival if you would like to see what the hot new talent of this country is producing.
