After a hiatus of seven years from the sunny city, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition is finally set to land back on the shores of Durban this July.

The internationally renowned exhibition will be taking place at uShaka Marine World from 25 July to 25 September and forms part of the Wild Talk Africa Film Festival and Conference.
The exhibition will be open for two months and features one hundred of the world’s most amazing wildlife photographs captured by seventy-seven top international photographers.
This year’s winner of the ‘Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Species’ is South Africa’s very own Kim Wolhuter, whose moving image entitled “Dog Days” won the hearts of the judges and gained him this prestigious award.
Acclaimed photo-journalist Brent Stirton was another South African to join the top ranks by being runner-up in the Wildlife Photojournalist of the Year Award. Stirton tells the story of rhino poaching in South Africa through a series of six images depicting the process of poaching rhinos for horns sold on Asian markets.
This year’s Durban iteration of the exhibition is sponsored by National Geographic Channels International.
The exhibition is an annual event, co-owned by the Natural History Museum of London and BBC Worldwide, and is a carefully chosen distillation of photographic entries from around the world.
