A collision of two articulated trucks on the N3 Durban just past the Shongweni off-ramp left one person injured on Friday afternoon.

ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene and found the two trucks in the left and emergency lane of the freeway with extensive damage to both vehicles. Both drivers were found outside of the vehicles, near to the accident scene. The drivers were assessed and one had suspected neck and back injuries. He was stabilised on scene before being transported by road to Hillcrest Private Hospital for further medical care.
The circumstances around the accident will be investigated by the local authorities. Two lanes were affected due to the accident as RTI had closed the lanes off to traffic.
