Japan court lets Sea Sheperd activist go home
Do you remember this dramatic video of a Japanese whaler slamming into activist vessel the Ady Gil? A Japanese court recently allowed anti-whaling activist Peter Bethune to go home to New Zealand on a two-year suspended prison term after finding Bethune guilty of disrupting Japan’s whaling fleet and assaulting a crew member. The Ady Gil , a wave-piercing trimaran, was rammed by the Japanese whaler MV Shonan Maru 2 with rather devastating results. Bethune told the New Zealand Herald he would “ never give up the fight to stop Japanese whaling”.
