The Playhouse Company has just announced dates for auditions for both their 2018 Sundowner Concerts and the Test Driving the Arts programmes.
Over the years the Sundowner programme has become regular feature on Durban’s arts calendar.
Some of the names featured on the current Sundowner programme include well known stars such as the Khaya Dladla, Lu Dlamini, Ndu Shezi, Dani Foster Trio, Platform Jazz, Tutti Grooves, Natalie Rungan, Solomon Willy, Mbuso Khoza and Heels Over Head among others.
If you fancy being counted alongside these names, auditions for the 2018 Sundowner programme will be held at the Playhouse on 28 September 2017
Meanwhile, upcoming artists will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent through the Test Driving the Arts programme which provides a space for them show off their skills during lunch time shows at the Playhouse. Auditions for the Test Driving the Arts programme will be held on 29 to 30 September 2017.
The Test Driving the Arts programme includes poetry and musical performances across a wide ranging number of genres. This means that whether you are an upcoming Jazz, Maskandi, Gospel, Kwaito, Afro Reggae, Imfene, Pantsula, or Hip Hop artist, this is your chance to showcase your skills in a public space.

Booking process: No walk-ins will be accommodated. It is therefore essential to book your slot. Registration forms are available at the Playhouse Head Office at 29 Acutt Street, Durban, 4001, from Monday, 4 September. These can be collected from the Security Desk. Closing date for registration is Wednesday, 20 September 2017, at 12h00.
