Global engineering giant, Aurecon, recently showcased their new “Green-Star Rated” offices on La Lucia Ridge – and it was a night to remember
Aurecon – a group of consulting engineers who bring ideas to life – offer clients a wide array of engineering services making them the perfect one-stop shop. To celebrate their new home on La Lucia Ridge, Aurecon pulled out all the stops and treated clients and guests to a magical evening of entertainment.
The function was preceded by an awe-inspiring site visit to the Avon Peaking Plant in Shakaskraal, one of Aurecon’s flagship projects in KZN.
Office Manager and Technical Director, Dr Aman Maharaj, first welcomed the guests, then gave everyone an overview of the Aurecon workspace, detailing the benefits not only to the environment, but to the staff as well. Maharaj was in full marketing zeal, stating very unabashedly: “Most of you already know Aurecon as you are our clients. For those of you who don’t know us, you will soon get to know us, because we aim to be your clients soon.”
The evening was attended by various high-profile business leaders in KwaZulu-Natal from both the public and private sectors. A young jazz trio provided background music while guests mingled, business cards exchanged hands and deals were discussed.
To add a touch of pampering bliss to the event, guests were offered various spa treatments, while a travelling magician added some mystique, showing off bewildering card tricks as he mingled amongst the crowd.
Former Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Gwen Ramakgopa, who is the brand ambassador for Aurecon’s “Our African City” initiative, explained the concept to the guests. The move to uMhlanga was in line with the logo, “future ready”, and opting for “green” offices is the norm for the group.
