In relocating the regional office from the Durban central business district (CBD) to premier commercial space on the Ridge, Bidvest Bank’s vision has become a reality. It has also coincided with the group launching its Bidvest Bank Business Account.
Located on the prestigious Lincoln on the Lake, Corporate Hub uMhlanga commands an enviable view over the picturesque Chris Saunders Park near Gateway. The Green Building Council of South Africa has awarded the property a four-star best practice rating, which considers various factors when assessing the environmental impact of a project’s site selection, design and construction.
Bidvest Bank KZN Head, Renier Meintjes, says the Corporate Hub uMhlanga branch is a new concept for the bank in terms of its product offering, service and branch layout, and the facility will have a banking product specialist on hand to handle client requirements in this arena.
“Bidvest Bank already provides a one-to-one customer service to its corporate client base through its dedicated corporate sales team. The Corporate Hub uMhlanga now provides our existing corporate base and our new corporate account holders with a branch specifically dedicated to their corporate banking needs – something that offers a distinct advantage to our clients and customers,” he says.
Meintjes believes the move from the CBD to uMhlanga was the key opportunity for Bidvest Bank to provide clients with exceptional service and “a memorable customer experience”. This promise would be backed by value-adding products that have remained the cornerstone of the specialist bank’s business throughout the years.
In a nutshell, the Corporate Hub uMhlanga was pivotal to the bank’s strategic view on retail banking. As its delivery channels expanded, Meintjes says there would be less reliance on the traditional bricks-and-mortar type transactional banking, and more importance on customer-orientated service centres such as what the Corporate Hub uMhlanga will provide. The state-of-the-art branch incorporates a meeting room, coffee station and a self-service terminal, plus dedicated parking bays for customers.
“Bidvest Bank is making a difference to its clients by continuing to look for innovative ways to meet their financial needs. The bank has a long and successful history in providing foreign exchange solutions to leisure and business clients through its Rennies foreign exchange association,” Meintjes says.
