After a rough time in the rain last week against Scotland, now the Boks will have to contend with snow at Twickenham if the weather boffins have done their sums right. This time the commentators will have it right, the “Africans” do not like playing in snow!
What more could go wrong on this tour for the Boks, after two players were earlier sent home for failing a random drugs test, and then the loss to Scotland, the first since 2002. Now the weather gods are conspiring against a team which has lost a number of key players and with coach Pieter de Villiers under pressure to make wholesale changes.
De Villiers has opted to make only two changes for the England Test. Pierre Spies comes in for local boy Ryan Kankowski, while fellow Shark Ruan Pienaar is preferred to Francois Hougaard at scrum-half.
At least De Villiers was still smiling after the Scotland game . . . which is more than can be said for most of the fans!!
