Water- Savvy Gardening at the BotSoc Indigenous Plant Fair
The annual BotSoc (Botanical Society) Indigenous Plant Fair takes place Friday 14, Sat 15 & Sun 16 August 2015. It is open to the public from 9am to 5pm on each of those three days. All welcome! Entrance is free.
It is being held in partnership with the Sustainable Living Exhibition at the Durban Exhibition Centre, Gate E, corner Samora Machel St (Aliwal St) & Bram Fischer Rd (Ordnance Rd) opposite the Parking Ground.
A wide range of good quality, water-wise plants; flowering ground covers, shrubs, and trees will be available. Plant experts will ably assist queries. You can drive in to collect your plants after paying.
The 2015 Indigenous Gardening Handbook – Planting Solutions – full of excellent advice on gardening challenges, will be on sale there as well as at nurseries and other outlets shortly before the Fair. The content will include descriptions of plants on sale with recommendations of where, how and what to plant.
Other interests at the Fair are Plant Displays and Talks. Visit the exhibitions inside the hall for information about flora, fauna, conservation and for inspiration for living a green lifestyle. Food and drinks available – a fun day out for the family!
