Noticing the trend in home decor to bring foliage indoors, long-time friends Jess de Bufanos and Claire Parker joined forces to design a range of lightweight hand-painted pots to complement the home.
“We love the idea of bringing foliage indoors and we’re also passionate about design and decor,” confesses Jess. “However, we found that most plant pots have been designed to be functional, and are often too heavy to move around. It was a challenge to find modern, beautiful planters to house foliage indoors.”
Inspired by Australian and New York decor brands the pair decided to design their own pots for the South African market, and their vision of Seed Store started to take shape at the beginning of last year. “It took some time to find the right people as we were set on using local suppliers and employees that could help us build a scalable business,” explains Jess.
“Our hand-painted pots are striking in design and add a modern trend to all spaces. At the same time, they’re lightweight and have been designed to fit all sizes of plastic inners.”
