Hirsch’s and Freedom Stationery have taken on the challenge of re-building an Educare Centre to accommodate over 200 children at Mount Moriah near Phoenix.
Along with the Headmistress and Secretary from Crawford Pre-Primary School, who are helping with educational material, they visited the site recently to monitor progress and to meet with teachers and township officials – and, more importantly, some future pupils of the school!
The children, ranging in age from 5 to 7, greeted the visitors and captured their hearts with some impromptu dance moves and a soul-warming selection of songs learnt especially for the occasion!
The project, which is being overseen by Phoenix Child Welfare, will encompass a formal pre-school, day care centre, library, ablution blocks and community centre, which will be the focal point of entertainment in a warm, social environment that will bring a sense of belonging to the elderly as well as the youth.
Hirsch’s and Freedom Stationery management teams are happy with the progress and would be delighted if other corporates in the area (and the public in general) could get involved with this extremely worthy cause: to get the school up and running for the grand opening at the end of November.
