The Build It U13 soccer initiative will be taking place at Anderson Park in Kings Road, Pinetown on Saturday 17 August.
Launched in 2006 as a partnership between Build It and SAFA’s Local Football Associations, the Build It U13 soccer initiative is one of South Africa’s biggest junior development programmes, with the aim of uplifting youngsters and giving them a chance to develop their talent in the sport.
There have already been 67 competitions this year, with an estimated 151 completed projects by the end of 2013 – resulting in a staggering 42 000 players benefitting from the initiative.
Build It has even gone so far as to sponsor the Amazulu Under 13 team, with the hope of developing and producing players who will go on to perform at a professional level.
“Our partnership with Build It has been very much a positive one in terms of what we want the youngsters to gain in the junior set up,” said Media Officer for Amazulu FC, Brilliant Mkhathini.
“The Build It group is committed to this initiative on a long-term basis and is proud to invest in a sport that appeals to millions,” said Ray Whitmore, Managing Director of Build It.
