A woman lost control of her bakkie this morning and crashed into an electricity box before going through a fence and coming to rest inside a private property.
The incident took place on Sanders Road in New Germany.
ER24 and the provincial ambulance service arrived on the scene and found the bakkie halfway down the embankment, resting on a car port.
The driver was already outside the vehicle. Paramedics treated her for shock and took her to Crompton Hospital for further medical care.
When the car hit the electricity box, it took out the power to all the homes in the area.
The authorities were called to the scene to make the area safe as there were live wires exposed.
It is unclear how long the residents would be without electricity.
