eThekwini’s Inner City Rejuvenation

By KZN Invest Magazine26/08/20162 Mins Read

eThekwini Municipality in its commitment to turnaround the inner city is relying on multiple interventions to respond to urban decay, crime, bylaw transgression which has resulted in the wide-spread “broken window” syndrome.

With the advent of the fax, the clustering of business became a thing of the past; this meant that business did not have to rely on proximity to do business. This was further excercibated by the introduction and strengthening of corporate identity through upmarket suburban office parks.

With what we know today, can municipalities continue to be oblivious to changing trends and innovation if it is to keep abreast with office and residential patterns. The city, through its catalytic projects office is both facilitating and initiating a variety of property investment projects within the inner city. These projects are considered to have a regional impact and will play a central role in the regeneration agenda of the inner city.

On the eve of the launch of Point Waterfront Development together with the expansion of Suncoast Casino, eThekwini is well poised to benefit from significant investments in the property market.

The City has also seen Johannesburg based property and Delta Property Fund aggressively enter eThekwini’s Inner City property market signaling a new error in eThekwini’s investment profile.

Join Mr Ndima of eThekwini Municipality who serves as a Project Executive to the Deputy City Manager responsible for Economic Development & Planning where he will share with both Inner City Stakeholders and Chamber Members alike on some of the groundbreaking projects and plans to turnaround the fortunes of the inner city of eThekwini.

This presentation will benefit property owners, investors in the residential and office accommodation, precinct managers and Inner City corporate and SMME’s clients.
