On 26 June 2014, Liberty donated woollen gloves to learners from the Vusukukhanya Primary School in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal, as part of their ongoing CSI support to the school.
In 2013, classroom materials to the value of R40 000 were donated to the same school.
The donation of the gloves is a result of the generous participation by delegates who attended the BATSETA conference held in the Drakensburg earlier in June.
“Our involvement in education over the past 40 years is well known and this donation is a continuation of that involvement,” says Tiaan Kotze, Executive of Large Corporate Distribution at Liberty Corporate. “The donation of gloves goes far beyond the classroom; it provides learners with an environment conducive to learning.”
Mr Mkhunya, principal at Vusukukhanya, could not contain his excitement at the handover: “It is indeed heart-warming when companies such as Liberty come to spend time with us. On behalf of the learners, I would like to thank Liberty for this gesture; I am certain that their parents will appreciate Liberty’s generosity.”
