The Ballito Prawn and Jazz Festival raised more than R100 000 for two local charities.
It was with great pride and satisfaction that Leanne Rencken and Nikki Patterson handed over two cheques to the value of R105 000 to the two charities of choice for the 2010 Ballito Prawn & Jazz Festival – The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and the Rotary International Polio Fund.

The main objectives from the onset of this project always remained a strong focus and, after many months of hard work, the organisers of The Ballito Prawn and Jazz Festival believe they were successfully achieved: 1. To increase tourism and therefore business and 2. To make a measurable difference to those who are in desperate need in our area.
“All this would not have been possible if it were not for the sponsorship received from local companies,” said Nikki Patterson and Leanne Rencken. “Thanks to our main sponsors: SPAR, Lifestyle Centre, Tight-Line Fisheries, Distell (Two Oceans Wine), North Coast Courier, Tourism KZN, Nedbank and Starke Ayres, and all the other companies who shared in our vision and believed we had what it took to make it a reality.
