Start the new year with a real treat for family and friends – take a scenic trip from Kloof Railway Station on either the 12, 13, 26 or 27 February, at 8.30 and 12.30.
It is also a great way to escape the Durban heat – by meandering through the 1000 Hills in a beautiful old train carriage, with open windows and a cool breeze!
The one-hour, 25km trip meanders on the Old Main Line traversing through the Valley of 1000 Hills, through one of the oldest operating tunnels in South Africa in Drummond, to Inchanga.
Refreshments are for sale on the train, on a cash basis.
Inchanga boasts a variety of activities for the whole family. Your train ticket enables you free entry to the Railway Museum situated in the Old Station Master’s House, and entrance into the Modeller’s Shed on the platform where Thomas & Friends can be found. The Inchanga Station Craft Market operates when the train runs and there are plenty of crafts awaiting to be discovered – as well as a variety of foods to suite most tastes.
