Following news of judge Mara Louw’s probable departure from the Idols show, 5FM disc jockey Gareth Cliff has asked his followers on Twitter, “So Mara hasn’t been signed up for Idols VII. Who would you like to see replace her?”
Ok, no need to read any further, Louw’s replacement has been announced: Sassy Metro FM radio personality Unathi Msenganawill take Mara’s place.
Cliff is of course a fellow judge on the music talent and popularity show which completed its sixth season recently.
Louw has apparently not been approached for the next season. It’s one of those, “Is she, isn’t she,” situations, with M-Net claiming she’s still in the mix.
A couple of interesting tweets about Louw leaving the show: “Mara louw leaving Idols is the best news of the day and a wise decision . . . It’s about time they take that racist woman off TV!!!” (sic)
“I think m-net is racist counter revolutionary media hell bent on elimenating any voice of reason,mara louw is a victim cos she protested” (sic)
Some interesting suggestions for a replacement for Mara include Lira, Khanyi Mbau, Noeleen from 3Talk, Danny K, Loyiso and Thandiswa Mazwai.
