All Hillcrest and Kloof residents are urged to attend their local CPF meetings.
The CPF is the forum where these issues can be raised directly with the local SAPS leadership who are present at the meetings.
The Hillcrest CPF meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 18h00 at the Hillcrest Library hall, the next meeting will be on 24th April 2013.
The Kloof CPF meets on the second Monday of every month at 18h00 at the Kloof Junior Primary School, the next meeting will be on 8th April 2013.
Rick Crouch, Councillor of Ward 10 adds, “If you see any strange vehicles or people in your neighbourhood or on your street, call the police and they will come out to question the person. Also people must report every crime no matter how trivial, this is how the SAPS decision makers allocate manpower and vehicles to a SAPS station, if the reported crime rate is low they allocate less.
So please report every crime, and if the officer at the desk says you cannot report a crime ask to see the Station Commander or report it to the CPF” added Councillor Crouch.
“If you have any vacant abandoned houses or buildings in your neighbourhood or overgrown vacant land contact your local Ward Councillor and he / she can then start the process of getting those taken care of. If we don’t know about it we can’t fix it”.
