The Rugby Football Union confirmed yesterday that the Vodacom Super Rugby match between the Crusaders and the Sharks will be held next weekend at Twickenham in London on Sunday, March 27.
The match was moved after the devastating earthquake which struck Christchurch, New Zealand, and made it impossible for the game to go ahead at the Saders’ AMI Stadium. The Crusaders hope to raise significant cash from the event to make up for some of the funds lost in recent weeks due to the necessary rescheduling of Super XV matches.
From The Sharks: “The match was initially scheduled for next Friday, however, due to an existing match on Saturday, March 26, between Harlequins and Gloucester in the Aviva Premiership, the RFU turned down the request.
“Crusaders returned with another proposal to the RFU and following consultation with police and television partners, to move the match to the Sunday instead, it was then accepted.
“Tickets for the match will go on sale at 6pm local time (4pm GMT) Tuesday, March 15 from Ticketmaster via their website www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Ticket prices range from GBP30.00 to GBP50.00”
