Amidst much fanfare and thousands of hopeful athletes, Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom is to play host to the official starter’s gun, signalling the opening of the Deloitte Challenge Half Marathon taking place on 1 May 2016.
The Deloitte Challenge consists of a 42.2km Marathon (Comrades Qualifier), 21.1km Half Marathon, 10km Ten-K, 5km Fun Run and a 40km Cycle Race. The Deloitte Half Marathon will set off from the Sibaya car park at 07h15, run down the hill to the M4 Sibaya Circle and follow the Marathon route through to the finish line at the GrowthPoint Kings Park Stadium, Durban.

Participants in the Deloitte Half Marathon are advised that it is a ChampionChip timed event. Participating runners wanting to be timed are required to wear a ChampionChip device and runners are required to have a chip in order to qualify for a prize. Prizes range from R500 to R5000 and medals will be awarded to all finishers. There is an age restriction of 16 years to participate in the race and entry fees are R150 per person. The Cut-off time for all events taking place on the day is 12h30.
The closing date for entry into the race is Monday, 18 April 2016 at midnight and no late entries will be accepted.
