Professor Barry Dwolatsky, Director and CEO at the Johannesburg Centre for Software Engineering (JCSE), will be the keynote speaker at Dev 2’s annual Developer Evening taking place on Wednesday, 28 May 2014.
As the driving force behind the centre, which is Gauteng’s answer to Silicon Cape, Dwolatzky will share his views on the ‘Economics of Software Quality: How to lower the cost of producing high quality software.’
Professor Dwolatzky’s driving passion is to promote the growth and development of the South African software industry, and is a well-recognised and much-loved personality among developers. He has published over 40 research papers in journals and conferences, and has supervised 24 MSc students and three PhDs, working at the University of the Witwatersrand since 1989.
“We are so excited to be hosting Professor Dwolatzky, as he has been such an inspiration to the Dev2 team in the work that we do for Warewolf,” says Wallis Buchan, director at Dev2 and organiser of the Developer Evening.

Dev 2, a software development company based in Durban, started hosting Developer Evenings to create a platform for sharing information and ideas, and for the Durban developer community to gain insight into best practices presented by leading industry players.
