Dryver.mobi is a brand new app from Topps at Spar, and with new drink drive legislation about to come into force, it is something worth looking at.
It works by creating a mobile network of friends from your existing ‘Contacts’ and allows you to set your status to ‘Drinking’ or ‘Driving’. In other words, if you are setting out for rugby, a party or Gateway your friends will be able to see you are there, and offer a lift or ask you for one depending on whether you are having alcohol or not.
There is even a ‘Rescue Me’ setting which allows you to put out an sms asking friends to come and get you if you have had too much to drink and are stranded and they are close by.
The new laws will really hit home with a total ban on liquor advertising in all traditional media, a ban of liquor sports sponsorship and a ban of course on drinking and driving. This proactive initiative from Spar and Topps really is about getting something organised before the law comes into effect. Register and give it a go!
