The Dutch in Umhlanga has once again pulled out all the stops for a week of musical wonder.
Tuesday night is “Evening of Folklore” hosted by the folk man himself, Aden Hinds. This is retro trip back to the magical era of folk ending with a blend of contemporary modern day folk rock inspired gems. Entry is free but space is becoming increasingly limited, so feel free to book in advance.
Wednesday is “Retro Vegas Cocktail Lounge”, presented by The Flamingo Lounge Ensemble and guests. The evening is loaded with that classic Vegas cocktail feel, with focus on a spread of well worked cocktails, an amazing collection of artists and an opportunity to get dressed up a touch and come shake it to the Flamingo quartet. Entry is free but you can phone through and book a space, pre snacks and a bucket of ice.
Thursday is “The Jam Sessions,” presented by Rob & Garth Warren joined by Freddy NL. Entry is free.
Friday night resident rockers The Black Lapels deliver a consistent blend of “Go-Dutch” from 8:30pm followed by the insatiable House of Church. Free entry.
Saturday is “American Folklore”, a mix of Bob Dylan, Jim Croce, Neil Young and more, presented by Local Favorites, Aden Hinds, Rob Warren & Guests. R100 per person.
