greenOFFICE, an eco-conscious print services company co-owned by ex- Springbok and ex- Sharks player Wayne Fyvie, will showcase South Africa’s first eco-friendly dress made from in-house, redundant office supplies, such as recycled paper and printer cartridges at this year’s Durban July.

The greenDRESS, designed by the in-house fine arts specialist Julie James, aims to encourage businesses and people to think about the environment by employing meaningful efforts to going green.
The green and white solid corset with flowing skirt will stand alongside the already famous and well travelled greenSUIT, created for the COP17 Summit 2011. The 8kg greenSUIT, designed by Terrance Bray and created by 160 crafters from the Woza Moya/Hillcrest AIDS Centre, is assembled entirely out of beads in the Shembe style with a contemporary twist.
Commenting on the greenDRESS and greenSUIT at the Vodacom Durban July, Wayne Fyvie says: “The concept of the greenDRESS and greenSUIT has been 5 months in the making, and what better event to showcase their individualism than the Vodacom Durban July.”
This year’s Durban July theme is ‘A Material World’ (support for green initiatives), so it is fitting that the greenDRESS will be entered into the coveted fashion show.
