Hop over to Wild Coast Sun, Sun International’s only beachfront resort for the upcoming Easter long weekend for activities and adventures for the whole family.
Set in natural splendour, the beach resort borders the Eastern Cape and is a mere two-hour drive away from Durban, making it the perfect Easter family retreat.
For families with small ‘chicks’, there are plenty of themed activities for magical memories to be made.
Throughout the weekend, the Easter bunny and Cliffy the clown will be making friends and available for photographs. Friday and Saturday, children will get to participate in the colouring competition at Squawkers Cove. Not to be missed, the annual Easter egg hunt takes place on Sunday and the person who collects most eggs gets a prize.
Older children can participate in the hoola hoop competition happening at the Wild Waves Water Park. In between sets, the 10000-m² water adventure park boasts six rides, plus has the Lazy River ride and a Kid’s Zone and is guaranteed to make memories for the whole family.
For parents with teens, water activities such as kayaking, water skiing and boat cruises down by the Riverside Aqua Sports Beach Bar on the banks of Umtamvuna River, may appeal.
Keen golfers will enjoy playing the 18-hole golf course, ranked one of the top courses in Southern Africa. The scenery is magnificent, and the country club offers light lunches and a view of the sea and the 18th hole. Adults can try their hand at the tables in the casino, playing roulette, poker or blackjack, or sit back at one of the many slot machines to see if Lady Luck is on their side.
On Sunday, gather the family around the table for an Easter feast, with a buffet lunch at Chico’s for R149 per person and R105 for kids under the age of 12.
“There will be live entertainment spread over whole complex over the Easter long weekend,” said Wild Coast Sun General Manager Peter Tshidi. “We really aim to thrill our guests of all ages by offering memorable and engaging activities.”
