Entries for the Three Cranes Challenge taking place at Bushwillow Camp in Karkloof from 20 to 23 February are now open, so put your running shoes on and brace yourself for the adventure of a lifetime!
This 3 Day Track and Trail run will see participants cover just over 100km, staged out of a single base camp in the Karkloof area.
A Race Village will be set up, and each participant will be accommodated in his/her own tent for the duration of the challenge.
The run will incorporate roads in and around the Gilboa and Karkloof Nature Reserve area. Expect easy off-road tracks through Mondi forests and grasslands, some trail running through beautiful misty forests and magnificent views as you run along the Gilboa escarpment.
The night run (taking place on the third and final stretch of the race) will add a new dimension to this challenge and promises to bring out the adventurer in you!
Karkloof Conservancy. These birds will be rehabilitated
into the wild and hopefully start families of their own in time.
By running in the Bonitas Three Cranes Challenge you will also help in conserving KZN’s endangered cranes, whose breeding ground is in the beautiful Karkloof valley.
There are two packages one can choose from when entering the race: the Full package and the Runner’s package.
The Full package costs R2600 (including R300 compulsory conservation fee) and includes all meals from Thursday to Sunday and tented accommodation from Thursday to Saturday night. Only 160 entries will be made available for this package.
The Runner’s package costs R2300 (including R300 compulsory conservation fee) and includes all meals from Thursday to Sunday but no accommodation in the race village. Only 60 entries will be made available for this package.
Registration will take place on 20 February and will operate on a first come first served basis.
