Golf Day preparations under way
Preparation for The Sunflower Fund Golf Day in Association with Rodel Financial Services and Bond Choice Home Finance is in full swing.
Getting everything teed up for the big day are (pictured) Gareth Kitto and Richard Gray from Bond Choice with Rodel’s Andrew Church. In front are event co-ordinators Stephanie Berry from The Sunflower Fund and Sam Daykin from Rodel.
The fundraising golf day takes place on Tuesday, July 20 and already two thirds of the field has been booked. The fifth annual golf day, which has enjoyed ongoing sponsorship from Rodel, with Bond Choice showing their support this year, has moved to Mount Edgecombe Country Club as two courses are needed to accommodate the ever-increasing 4ball waiting list.
The cost per 4 ball is R1500 which excludes the cost of the golf cart which is essential if playing on course two. The format is 4 ball alliance, two scores to count and the top 20 teams receive a prize. To book a 4 ball or sponsor a prize, goodie bag item or hole, contact Stephanie Berry on 078 207 9041 or email steph@sunflowerfund.org.za. A wheel barrow of golfers “favourites” is being put together for the main raffle prize so the sponsorship of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks (biltong, crisps, chocolates, nuts) are very welcome.
All money raised from the day will be used to pay for the tissue typing of potential bone marrow stem cell donors for inclusion on the South African Bone Marrow Registry. The more donors on the registry the more hope children and young adults diagnosed with leukaemia have of finding their life saving donor match. For more information on becoming a donor phone 0800 12 10 82.
