Centre owner, Paul Jason, explained that as the centre is situated just off the M4, he recognised that the centre was ideally suited to cater for the convenience and leisure needs of the greater Durban North, Glenashley and La Lucia community. For this reason he hand-picked a mix of tenants that would complement this position.
“With a concentration of schools in the area and a community of young families, we decided to pitch our centre to service this market. It seemed natural to celebrate our rejuvenation by concentrating on the kids. After the success of last year’s Kiddies’ Fun Day we decided to go even bigger this year, to create an iconic event for the community, something they can look forward to and rely on each year,” said Jason.
“In addition to the attractions of last year, we added a Little Miss Fego Contest and a fun pigeon race. We even cleared the event with Virginia Airport tower to avoid conflict between the impressive flock of birds and any air traffic in the area!”
Even some much-needed wet weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the large gathering of families attending the fun day out.
