The iconic athlete completed the ultramarathon in a time of eight hours, six minutes and nine seconds. “This was the hardest race I’ve ever done in my life, but running Comrades has been an amazing experience,” said Zola.

The crowds at The Unlimited Zola Fan Zone shouting their support as the company’s sponsored runner, Zola Budd, comes through

“The most beautiful thing about the race is the camaraderie between the people who take part, as well as the support from the thousands more who support them all. I experienced the true Comrades spirit – and there is nothing like it in the world.”

The Unlimited Zola Fan Zone was about celebrating all the Comrades runners. According to CEO of The Unlimited, Steph Bester, both the Comrades Marathon and The Unlimited are about more than just winning – they are about people.

“The Unlimited is all about people doing the extraordinary and Zola, aged 45 and mother of three grown children, is proof that attitude is everything. Our fan zone wasn’t only about Zola, it was about showing respect for all the courageous people who run the ultimate human race,” Steph concludes.
