The Kloof and Highway SPCA extends an open invitation to all their supporters and members of our community who care about the welfare of animals and who would like to become more actively involved with the Golden Paws Society.
The intention of the Golden Paw Society is to welcome supporters in as part of the SPCA family and keep supporters informed about the work undertaken by the Kloof and Highway SPCA in terms of Inspectorate activities, animal health care, care of animals in our shelter, outreach clinics and education to promote the humane treatment of all animals.
They host a morning tea every month, (the last Thursday of the month) where community members are given feedback on what has taken place over the past month and at the August meeting they will hear from Janet Legemaate, the KZN representative of the Organ Donor Foundation and she will be explaining what the situation in South Africa is in respect of organ donations, sharing some stories about how people’s lives have been affected by organ donations and what it is like to be on the waiting list. She will also be explaining why people are encouraged to start the conversation and to discuss organ donation. There is no charge, however donations are welcome.
All the charity shops will be open for those who wish to go shopping before or after the tea. Guests will be invited for a guided tour around the animal shelter after the meeting.
