Christie Mackenzie (1st year IIE BA Cape Town Campus and Varsity College Sports Life Captain) and K1 London Olympics Bronze medalist Bridgett Hartley showed their power and determination when they held on to a sprint finish to claim 2nd place on the podium and 41st overall at the recent FNB Dusi Canoe Marathon.
Said Christie: “Out of the 4 Dusi’s I have done, 2018 was definitely the toughest. I am stoked to have come 2nd but hope this doesn’t become a trend for me.”
Stewart Little (1st year IIE BCOM Durban North campus and Varsity College Sports Life Captain) and Khumbulani Nzimande, development paddler of the Change a Life Academy Dusi/Nagle Valley just paddled stronger and stronger as the race went on, and had there been a 4th day, they may have snuck into the top 10 overall. They finished 14th overall and 4th u23.
