The first ever pole dancing competition to be held in KZN takes place on Saturday, 17 September at the Hillcrest Sports Club.
Far from the seedy images people may imagine when they hear the words ‘pole dancing’, this has evolved into a popular form of performing art and is a great way to exercise. It combines the principles of gymnastics and dance, and requires fitness, upper body strength and flexibility.
“The competitors have been training really hard for this and would appreciate your support!” says Laura from Fusion Dance Centre.
There will be showcase dances by the BodyMind and Basic Instincts studios from Joburg, as well as the launch of the Blaque Satin stage poles, made by people who know about strength and stability!
There will be a tuckshop and a band for entertainment. Tickets cost R30 and doors open at 10am.
