Harvey’s at 465 Innes Road has the reputation of being the sort of place you go for high days and holidays. The food and setting imply this, and so it is lovely to be able to point out that at the moment you can eat two courses from their Summer Cafe Menu, not be shortchanged on the service or the quality of your lunch, and only pay R120!
For this price you could be eating Panka Chicken marinated in maas with mild butter curry sauce, followed by Norweigan Salmon on roasted tomatoes with a rich hollandaise and sauce vierge or Cypriot Salad, with marinated vegetables and crisp fried haloumi, followed by Moroccan chicken on roasted butternut and Chermoula cream and coriander….the permutations are many and they are all delicious.
Next time you are driving through Morningside give it a try, you will be glad you did.
