Highway Hospice are hoping to hold a ‘handmade with love’ Christmas fete and are appealing to the community for help.
Please respond if you are able to do any of the following:
1. Sewing – Highway Hospice will supply fabric if you can make cushion covers, aprons, bags, cell phone bags, peg bags, or anything else you can think of.
2. Christmas decorations – they would love to have a stall filled with loads of lovingly made Christmas decorations.
3. Knitting and Crochet – Highway Hospice can supply the wool if you have a talent for making stuffed toys, baby clothes, scarves etc.
4. Baking – some very talented ladies are needed who can make Christmas Cakes and Christmas Puddings. Again, the hospice can help with ingredients. They will also need bakers closer to the day for fresh baked goods!
5. Sweet makers – if you can find the time to make some sweets for the sweet stall that would be wonderful – fudges, candies etc.
6. Pickles and Jams – wouldn’t it be lovely to have some home-made jams and pickles to sell? There is nothing nicer than home-made!
7. Plants – green fingers? Highway Hospice need some herbs and pot plants to liven the place up. If you have any old pots at home they need those too!
8. Clothing – the hospice are having a second-hand sale the Saturday before the Christmas sale – any donations of shoes, bags, clothing, belts etc. would be very welcome. If you are dropping off, please clearly mark ‘FETE’. If you need Highway Hospice to collect they will be happy to.
9. White Elephant and Pandora Stalls – that vase your Auntie Jane gave you that clashes with everything or kitchenware that you are dying to replace but need a good excuse to get rid of – now is your chance!
Highway Hospice are appealing to the community to get involved – they cannot do the work they do without you!
Items can be dropped off at Highway Hospice, 59 Locksley Drive, Sherwood.
For collections please phone Cheryl or Cathy on 031 208 6110.
