April 8, 2011. Shamla Rajoo was the lucky winner of a brand new Hyundai Atos at an event held at Hirsch’s Umhlanga last night.
Finalists in the competition were all presented with a key to a car door, only one of which was the correct key that would open the door of the grand prize vehicle. A delighted Rajoo “drove away” with the first prize, while all the finalists won prizes including hampers, vouchers, excellent prizes from DStv and an overseas trip.

One of the main drawcards of the evening was a musical performance by up-and-coming talent Krystle Temmerman (or Krystle T, as she’s known in musical circles), who was joined on stage by popular entertainer Melanie Lowe, a Durban artist who now is based in Johannesburg. Most will remember Lowe as the runner-up of the first season of South Africa’s Idols competition, but she has since recorded extensively and is a talented live performer who is today one of South Africa’s best loved singers.
Temmerman and Lowe combined for a couple of numbers and really stole the show.
Sponsors for the event included LG, Hyundai, Pepsi and DStv.
