The Hirsch Group, the largest independently owned retail company in Southern Africa, was voted as the top company in the Trade Sector at the 10th KZN Top Business Awards ceremony that was held at the Greyville Convention Centre in Durban recently. This is the second time they have won the award.
The Top Business Awards, which are powered by the Elan Property Group, honour the achievements of KZN’s thriving economy by identifying and celebrating business success in the province in a variety of business categories. They include: Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing, Utilities, Construction, Trade, Transport, Financial and Business Services, Social and Community Services, Tourism, Municipal promotions and Government. Factors such as brand and reputation, stakeholder relations and goodwill, environmental sustainability, social responsibility and quality of governance are all taken into account with regards to the awards.
Accepting the award on behalf of the Hirsch Group, Brand Manager of the company, Luci Hirsch said “We are extremely proud to accept this award. My parents, Allan and Margaret Hirsch started the company 37 years ago with a few basic principles of great products, great service and great people. Something that we live by today while constantly changing and moving forward. Internally, our goal is to be No.1 and it is great that we have once again been recognised as No.1 in the trade category in KZN.”
