The past twelve months have seen the release of three cookbooks from Hirsch’s, with the most recent being “His and Hirsch’s”, a gorgeously illustrated book by company MD Richard and his wife Simone.
The book draws inspiration from Zanzibar, where the couple got engaged, and the recipes are simple and stylish, perfect for the young, professional couple that loves cooking – and eating – great food.
“His and Hirsch’s” was launched at the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show, with the couple preparing dishes from the book. They worked in collaboration with Elba’s Ramola Makan, well-known author of five recipe books, to make Italian Fillet, Prawn and Penne Pasta and Simone’s Zanzibar Aubergines.
An interactive kitchen was set up in the ELBA stand to allow show-goers the opportunity to watch the couple cook and share some stories behind the recipes.
“His and Hirsch’s” is available from Hirsch branches around the country. Proceeds from the book will go to Claire Ellis Brown Pre-Primary School and the Vulingqondo Literacy Centre in Durban.
