In his ongoing campaign against U2 frontman, Bono, Afrikaans singer and self-appointed cultural guardian Steve Hofmeyr has parodied the lyrics of the old U2 hit Sunday Bloody Sunday.
Here are the revised lyrics as they appear on Hofmeyr’s official website.
Hofmeyr was enraged when Bono made comments relating to the singing of the song “Kill the Boer”.
Here’s why Steve got annoyed and threw his U2 tickets into the Jukskei.

** Unsurprisingly, Bono has commented that his comments re the “Kill the Boer” song were taken out of context. Having followed the entire story, it does seem that the headline was a lot juicier than the story. But maybe the ageing Irish rock star should leave politics to the politicians . . . And Steve too.
