The Horizon Farm Trust fundraiser Race Day at Greyville Racecourse was a great success. More than 100 guests turned out to support this annual event held to raise much needed funds for the trust’s invaluable horse care therapy unit which costs more than R100 000 a year to run.
Children who benefit from riding at Horizon Farm in Shongweni range in age from 20 months to 18 years, with disabilities including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism, visual impairment and down syndrome. Imagine the joy of a child who is in a wheelchair every day being able to look down from a horse rather than up at people all the time!
