Big Concerts announced that pop balladeer (and occasional rocker) James Blunt will be returning to South Africa to headline two dates in August 2011 as part his Some Kind of Trouble World Tour on Wednesday, August 24 at the ICC Durban Arena, Durban and Friday, August 26 at the Coca-Cola Dome Johannesburg.
James Blunt’s first album, Back to Bedlam, made him an instant superstar, thanks to the mega hit You’re Beautiful, plus supporting hits like High and Goodbye My Lover. While many derided the squeaky-voiced warbler, there was no denying his talent and fantastic songwriting ability that struck a chord with millions of fans.
His second album, 2007’s All the Lost Souls, debuted at No 1 in 10 countries, selling nearly 5 million copies globally and featuring 1973, Same Mistake and Carry You Home.
His latest album Some Kind of Trouble include key tracks So Far Gone, Superstar and Stay the Night; where Blunt joined songwriting forces with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder.
James Blunt has repeatedly expressed his enjoyment of live performances and connecting with his audience. “Put the album out and get me on tour,” he says. “We’re going to have the time of our lives playing these songs.”
