Durban missed out on U2 for the second time, and Roxette this time round, and the Script, Coldplay, Kylie Minogue and Kings Of Leon will only perform in Johannesburg and Cape Town, but good ol’ James Blunt will be bringing his Some Kind of Trouble world tour to Durban this August.
James Blunt will perform on 24th August at the ICC Arena in Durban.
Blunt released his first album, Back to Bedlam, in 2004, and it catapulted him to worldwide fame on the strength of songs like You’re Beautiful, High and Goodbye My Lover.
His second album, All the Lost Souls (2007), featuring such hits as 1973, Same Mistake and Carry You Home, debuted at No.1 in ten countries, selling nearly five million copies around the world.
He has received numerous awards and accolades including two Brit Awards, two World Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV European Music Award and five Grammy nominations.
His latest album, Some Kind of Trouble (2010), starts a new chapter. Produced mainly by Steve Robson, key tracks include So Far Gone, Superstar and Stay the Night; where Blunt joined song writing forces with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder.
While Blunt loves making new music, his ultimate joy comes from playing the songs live and sharing them with an audience. “Put the album out and get me on tour,” he says.
