Sahara Stadium Kingsmead, the home of the Hollywoodbets Dolphins is all set to host the much anticipated Momentum ODI between South African and Australia on Wednesday 5 October.
Cricket South Africa’s grounds consultant, Hilbert Smit, and Shelton Drainage Solution SA’s Roland Kugelmann worked together with KZNCU Head Groundsman Wilson Ngobese to ensure that the outfield for the Australian One-Day International will be of a standard as required for International cricket.
The current drainage system was tested again and was found to be operating effectively within specifications. KZN Cricket acting CEO Rajesh Behari confirmed that the first phase of a new perimeter drainage system, to supplement the current system in place, has been completed, and that the new grass coverage on the outfield was now well established.
