Anyone who knows Clynt Levin will know that he is incapable of doing anything in half measures. With the success of Legacy Bonsai, which we featured in December 2016, Clynt, business partner Alan Grant and a small group of bonsai masters have created a sanctuary just off the M13 – a living art gallery, where visitors are able to view exceptional bonsai trees, buy their own and learn more about the ancient art.
Now, gardening enthusiasts can enjoy the same top-quality experience and expert advice in a retail setting, just across from Legacy Bonsai at the Mushroom Farm. “I only use the best products on my bonsais, and that is what we stock at Legacy Garden and Leisure,” Clynt explains.
The store is managed by horticulturalist Alan Grant, who is able to advise on the correct product for any application. Alan is familiar to the local community, having managed Stoneage Garden Centre for 18 years and then Castle Bonsai in Hillcrest for eight years, before joining the team in setting up Legacy Bonsai.
A partnership with Grovida brings this well-known garden brand direct to the public. Established by Vincent Lourenco Snr in Durban in 1980, the company is family run and produces a wide range of top-quality garden products for the domestic, horticultural and agricultural markets. “Knowledge is vital and, at Legacy Garden and Leisure, shoppers are guaranteed the best advice,” says current owner Vince Lourenco Jr.
Shoppers are able to buy anything they need for the garden, from bird seed to potting soil, fertilisers, plant food, seeds, herbicides, pesticides, garden hardware and more – seven days a week.
