Does your iPod ‘most played’ include Rick Astley, Go West and Spandau Ballet? Do you have a hankering for lumo legwarmers, shoulder pads and acid-wash jeans? Then you’re in luck! Catch your favourite 80s muso’s live at the 80s Rewind Festival on 25 February 2012 at Kings Park.
The festival boasts the biggest outdoor line-up of 80s recording artists and performers ever seen in SA, including Tony Hadley, Marc Almond, Midge Ure, Imagination, Village People and ABC.
Originally launched in the UK in 2009, the festival was a surprise success, attracting more than 30 000 people. In its second year the festival grew to sell-out capacity and saw the biggest line up of artists since Live Aid. It has subsequently been touring the world to massive success, and there’s every reason to believe that 80s-starved SA fans will flock to see these legends of bad taste and brilliant music.
