Mass Landscapes – make it a showstopper

Miles and Michelle Steenhuisen, together with their team at Mass Landscapes, have been creating award-winning gardens for over 15 years. Why not let them transform your green space?

When I walk into a garden, it talks to me,” Miles says with a smile. “Certain areas lend themselves to particular features and I love being able to test my creativity.”

If you’ve visited Open Gardens in the Upper Highway area or taken the Winston Park off-ramp from the M13, you’ll have seen Mass Landscapes’ work. The company’s ethos is to create eco-friendly, sustainable gardens that will attract a wide variety of local wildlife.

“There is a misconception that indigenous can be drab, but that’s just not true. There is a rich variety of form and colour, and the wildlife indigenous plants attract is incredible.” Miles’s passion for succulents is clear in his own garden, as well as many of the outstanding gardens he has designed.

“Setting up a garden well is vital for its long-term use. We create gardens that are low maintenance, require little water and will retain their form for years to come.”

Mass Landscapes work on all sizes of project and cater for all aspects of landscaping and design for the residential and commercial market. The team are specialists in the building of bomas and firepits, and pride themselves on the quality of every installation. Other work includes garden consultation and landscape installation, rock swimming pools and water features, pots, tree felling, supply of plants, paving, concrete sleeper retaining walls and rockeries, professional pruning and garden clean-ups.

“We believe in giving back to the community where we can and support the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association, giving our time and resources to maintain sections of Old Main Road, as well as the Elizabeth Road Park in West Riding.”
